Dream Girl 2 movie review and release LIVE Updates

Dream Girl 2 is being called the spiritual sequel of Dream Girl 1. The film was released on 25th August 2023 and stars Ayushman Khurrana and Ananya Pandey. It follows the same plot that it had established in 2019 with the first movie where the son was trying to pay off his father’s debt by doing odd jobs by playing a girl.

The star ensemble also includes Paresh Rawal, Annu Kapoor, Vijay Raaz, Rajpal Yadav, Manjot Singh, Abhishek Banerjee, and Seema Palwa. The film is produced by Balaji Telefilms and is directed by Raaj Shaandilya. He had directed even the first movie of this sequel franchise. However, Ashim Bagchi has asked for a stay order on the movie as he believes several parts of the script have been similar to his script which he had registered under SWA in 2007. But the court hasn’t abstained from the release of the movie and is waiting for a hearing from Balaji Telefilms.

It is a light movie that experiments with comedy and also mixes a wee bit of romance into it. Day 1 box office earning was 9-10 crores.

Continuing on the plot from the previous movie Karam, a boy from a small town Mathura plays the role of a woman, Pooja. Like previously, he worked in a call center now he has spread his wings far. In this one, he is the bahu of Nawab of Agra, and by night he dances in a bar.

A huge wig, a full face of makeup, and a blouse that fits him with his trademark oranges cause quite a wave in the movie. Ananya is way far from being a girl from Mathura and her accent seems to be not the most perfect one. Also, she is shown to fall back to English whenever she is angry or conversing for a long time.
