Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan met PM Modi During her visit to India

Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan embarked on a significant four-day diplomatic visit to India, with the primary objective of strengthening the bilateral ties between the two nations.

This presidential visit from Tanzania to India marks a noteworthy occasion, as more than eight years have passed since the last such visit took place.

On the agenda for Monday is a crucial meeting between President Samia Hassan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, where they are expected to discuss various matters of mutual interest.

The Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson, Arindam Bagchi, emphasized the significance of this visit in terms of enhancing the India-Tanzania relationship, stating, “President @SuluhuSamia of Tanzania arrives on a State Visit to India, giving a fresh impetus to India-Tanzania ties. This is her first visit to India since assuming the office of President.”

In the evening, S Jaishankar, the External Affairs Minister of India, had the privilege of meeting with President Samia Hassan during her state visit. During their meeting, he expressed his gratitude for her positive reception of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts towards securing African Union’s permanent membership in the G20.

Further enhancing the visit’s significance, President Samia Hassan is set to participate in a business and investment forum in Delhi on October 10, which will undoubtedly promote economic collaboration between the two nations.

The ceremonial welcome for President Samia Hassan at the forecourt of the Rashtrapati Bhawan on Monday morning will mark the beginning of her visit. Subsequently, she will engage in in-depth bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, further solidifying the ties between India and Tanzania.
