What is Illam Thedi Kalvi application?

The Illam Thedi Kalvi initiative is an attempt to bridge the gap in knowledge for students between Standard 1 to Standard 8 during COVID-19. Students have missed classes and regular, appropriate guidance during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Most of the schools were working through the online classes, and arranging those classes took some time. The initiative is started by the Government of Tamil Nadu as a pilot project in 12 districts of Tamil Nadu.

What are application Requirements?

To apply in the initiative, the application requirements include,

1. To initiate communication with children, the volunteer must be fluent in English.
2. The person must at least be 17-year-old and must be willing to teach Tamil, Mathematics and English.
3. The individual must be willing to participate and must not be doing it under any compulsion.
4. The participants must be willing to shred six hours every week with children.
